Sam Bonfe and Ryan Koob each ran for two touchdowns and host Centennial defeated No. 3, Class 6A Totino-Grace 25-17 on Friday night, the Eagles' first loss since the 2015 season.

Totino-Grace went 13-0 in claiming last year's Class 6A championship. But Friday, the Eagles fell behind 13-0 and never could catch up. They got within 19-14 in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard TD run by Peyton Schuler, but the Cougars (2-0) responded with a 36-yard scoring run by Ryan Koob, their quarterback.

The Eagles blocked a Centennial punt in the final minute to take over at the Cougars 25-yard line, but the Centennial defense held from there.

Apple Valley 14, St. Thomas Academy 0: Damian Swanson had an interception in the final minute of the first half and returned the second-half kickoff 100 yards to spark the Eagles, ranked No. 4 in Class 5A, over the Cadets in a Suburban Maroon district game. Swanson's interception stopped a Cadets drive inside the Apple Valley 20-yard line and kept the game scoreless. After his touchdown return to open the second half, the Eagles scored later in the third quarter on a 2-yard TD run by quarterback Tyler Cardella.

Armstrong 27, Spring Lake Park 24: Jesse Sherwood rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns to help the Falcons outlast the host Panthers.

Benilde-St. Margaret's 14, Orono 0: Henry Wolfe caught third-quarter TD passes of 35 and 8 yards from Tommy Anderson to lead the Red Knights, ranked No. 4 in Class 4A, past the host Spartans, No. 10 in 4A.

Burnsville 12, Eastview 7: Marcus Shepley passed for two touchdowns and intercepted three passes on defense to lead the Blaze past the Lightning.

Chanhassen 35, Bloomington Jefferson 13: Jacob Miller rushed for three touchdowns in the first quarter to spark the host Storm, ranked No. 7 in Class 5A, past the Jaguars. Miller scored on runs of 43, 46 and 3 yards as Chanhassen led 28-0 after one quarter.

Cooper 40, St. Louis Park 17: Junior Nascier Borden rushed for 165 yards and two TDs to lead the Hawks past the Orioles. Cooper's Johnny Sorenson threw for 315 yards and ran for 81.

DeLaSalle 38, Simley 15: Sage Booker ran for 212 yards on 17 carries as the host Islanders beat the Spartans. Booker scored on a 53-yard TD run in the third quarter. Evan Francois passed for a TD and ran for another for DeLaSalle.

Holy Angels 18, South St. Paul 7: Joseph Anderson and Jack Anderson rushed for fourth-quarter touchdowns to rally the No. 8, Class 4A Stars past the host Packers, No. 3 in 4A. The Packers led 7-6 after three quarters.

Glencoe-Silver Lake 27, Watertown-Mayer 14: Adrian Trevino scored on TD runs of 1 and 5 yards to spark the No. 6, Class 3A Panthers past the host Royals, No. 9 in 3A. Glencoe-Silver Lake scored 24 unanswered points spanning halftime to take a 27-7 lead.

Mahtomedi 42, Park of Cottage Grove 14: Brandon Anderson scored on runs of 26, 37 and 18 in the second half as the Zephyrs, No. 6 in Class 5A, scored 35 unanswered points to cruise past the Wolfpack. Adam Olson added two touchdowns for Mahtomedi, which trailed 14-7 at halftime.

Mound Westonka 27, St. Paul Johnson 20: Bobby Sweet rushed for 263 yards on 35 carries to lead the White Hawks past the Governors. Sweet scored on first-half touchdown runs of 3 and 2 yards as Mound Westonka opened a 24-12 halftime lead.

Houston 30, Grand Meadow 16: Houston knocked off the four-time defending Nine-man state champion Superlarks, who were ranked No. 1. The loss ended Grand Meadow's 51-game winning streak, dating to October 2013. The longest active winning streak in the state now belongs to Caledonia, which beat Triton 34-27 for its 30th consecutive victory Friday.
