Burnsville's baseball team is peaking at the right time after a sluggish start.

The Blaze put together a nine-game winning streak after a 5-4 start to open the season. Burnsville scored only three runs and was shut out twice in those four losses.

During its winning streak, the Blaze scored fewer than four runs only once. Burnsville is averaging 5.1 runs per game for the season, which is more than enough for its outstanding pitching staff.

"We're blessed with pretty decent pitchers," Burnsville coach Mick Scholl said. The Class 4A, No. 10 Blaze is allowing only 2.3 runs per game.
