Eastview has made two coaching changes, one for the upcoming girls' lacrosse season and the other in volleyball.

Matt Percival, the school's assistant principal for curriculum and athletics, recently announced the hiring of Kate Leavell as girls' lacrosse coach and Ryan Dehnel as volleyball coach.

Leavell replaces Lauren DeZellar, who resigned to accept the head coaching position at Chaska. The Lightning finished 4-11 a year ago. Leavell previously coached at Lake- ville North from 2010-13.

"We are extremely excited to have found a candidate with not only incredible background and experience in coaching girls' lacrosse, but also someone with such an incredible passion for positively impacting the lives of young student athletes," Percival said.

Dehnel replaces Dave Laufenberger, who resigned following an 11-17 season. Dehnel spent the past five years as St. Michael-Albertville coach.

"We are thrilled to have found a candidate with not only such incredible volleyball coaching experience at the high school, club and collegiate level, but also someone who has a purpose as an educator for developing life lessons in each of his student-athletes," Percival said.
