Anneke Linser and Gabby Hughes combined for eight goals and nine assists to lead defending Schwan Cup Gold Division champion Centennial to a 10-2 victory over Buffalo in the first round of the girls' hockey tournament Monday at the National Sports Center in Blaine.

Linser had three goals and six assists and Hughes had five goals and three assists to pace the Cougars, who are ranked No. 7 in Class 2A.

Lakeville North 4, Duluth 2: Erin Olson had two goals and an assist to lead the Cougars, ranked No. 8 in Class 2A, to a Schwan Cup Gold Division victory.

Andover 3, Holy Family/Waconia 2: Claire Butorac had two goals and an assist to help the Huskies rally from a 2-0 deficit in the Schwan Cup Silver Division.

Mahtomedi 2, Totino-Grace 1 (OT): Anna Broten scored at the 4:03 mark of overtime to lift the Zephyrs over the Eagles in the Schwan Cup Bronze Division.

Thief River Falls 4, East Ridge 1: Callie Fagerstrom, Madison Poole and Kora Torkelson each had a goal and assist to lead the Prowlers, ranked No. 5 in Class 1A, past East Ridge in the Schwan Cup Gold Division.

Boys' hockey

St. Paul Johnson 6, Hopkins 0: Isaac Moberg scored three goals and Aaron Lee had 22 saves to earn a shutout to highlight the Governors' victory over the Royals in the first round of the South St. Paul tournament.

South St. Paul 5, Hastings 2: Matthew Gellerman had three goals and two assists and Nathan Brandecker had a goal and four assists as the Packers beat the Raiders in the first round of the South St. Paul tournament.
