The Hopkins boys' basketball team got ready for its showdown with Henry Sibley by routing Minnetonka.

BOYS' BASKETBALL: Royals easily cruise past Skippers

• HOPKINS 106, MINNETONKA 62: The showdown is set. Class 4A, No. 1 Hopkins and No. 2 Henry Sibley meet tonight with both teams flying high. The Royals tuned up for the matchup with 60 first-half points en route to an easy victory over Minnetonka on Thursday night in the Classic Lake. Senior guard Trent Lockett made five three-pointers in the opening half and finished with 17 points. Raymond Cowels also had 17 points for Hopkins. The Skippers were paced by sophomore forward Nick Latzke's game-high 21 points.

• BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 80, BURNSVILLE 73: The Alipate brothers teamed up to hand Burnsville its first loss of the season. Sophomore guard Marcus had 22 points and senior forward Moses added 17, lifting the Jaguars over Class 4A, No. 8 Burnsville in the Lake. The Jaguars had four players in double figures. Burnsville junior guard Devon Knopke scored a game-high 30 points.

• GLENCOE-SILVER LAKE 57, MOUND-WESTONKA 54: Senior forward Whitey Sanken made two free throws with one second remaining, sealing the Panthers' victory over Mound-Westonka in the Wright County. Sanken finished with 20 points. Junior guard Nick Nobbe led four White Hawks in double figures with 17 points.

• PARK OF COTTAGE GROVE 71, ST. PAULK COMO PARK 58: The Wolfpack trio of seniors Andy Voigt, Craig Brown and Cody Hofmann combined for 56 points, rallying the Wolfpack past the Cougars. St. Paul Como Park built a 12-point lead at halftime before being outscored by the Wolfpack 43-18 in the second half. Voigt finished with 20 points while Brown and Hofmann each had 18. Brown and Hoffman scored 16 and 13 points in the second half, respectively.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Loss ends Trojans' rough stretch

• HOPKINS 64, NEW PRAGUE 57: The Class 3A, No. 1 Trojans wrapped up a brutal four-game stretch, falling to Class 4A, No. 2 Hopkins in a nonconference matchup. Junior post Hana Potter paced Hopkins with 18 points. Maggie Weiers led four New Prague players in double figures with 12 points. The Trojans' previous three games were against Jordan, Eastview and St. Paul Central.

• JORDAN 72, MAYER LUTHERAN 43: Senior guard Brittany Chambers had 34 points, 10 rebounds, six steals and four assists, leading Class 2A, No. 1 Jordan past the Crusaders.

BOYS' HOCKEY: Red Knights coach notches No. 300

• BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 4, SPRING LAKE PARK 1: Junior forward Brett Patterson had two goals and one assist, giving Red Knights coach Ken Pauly his 300th career win with a victory over Spring Lake Park in the North Suburban. The Red Knight scored three goals in the second period after Josh Bevers of Spring Lake Park tied it at one with a goal with 53 seconds remaining in the first period. Benilde-St. Margaret's outshot the Panthers 52-8.

• CENTENNIAL 4, ELK RIVER 1: Senior forward William Hess ignited a four-goal outburst in the third period, lifting the Class 2A, No. 4 Cougars over Elk River in the Northwest Suburban. Hess scored the first two goals of the period while junior forward Zachary Brickner added the final two goals.

GIRLS' HOCKEY: Sabers' Gansen shuts out Raiders

• SHAKOPEE 2, NORTHFIELD 0: Sophomore goalie Kailey Gansen is playing the best hockey of her young career. Gansen made 28 saves, shutting out Class 1A, No. 7 Northfield in the Missota. Gansen hasn't given up a goal in 197 minutes -- almost four consecutive games. Nicole Anderson scored midway through the second period to give the Sabers a 1-0 lead. Lauren Hespenheide, who assisted on the goal, added an empty-net goal with 12 seconds remaining.

• RED WING 7, PRIOR LAKE 3: Junior Rose Alleva had a hat trick and one assist, leading the Wingers past the Lakers in the Missota. Red Wing scored three goals in each of the final two periods.
