BOYS' BASKETBALL

Sibley tops Tartan

• HENRY SIBLEY 65, TARTAN 38: The Warriors showed they are ready for their showdown with top-ranked Hopkins on Friday night. Class 4A, No. 2 Henry Sibley raced to a 26-point halftime lead against No. 5 Tartan, cruising to a Classic Suburban Conference victory Tuesday in Oakdale. Senior forward Mike Breusewitz, a Wisconsin recruit, scored 16 of his 18 points in the first half when the Warriors took a 41-15 lead.

• ANDOVER 63, PARK CENTER 59 (OT): The Huskies scored five of their eight points in overtime from the free-throw line, outlasting the Pirates in the Northwest Suburban. Senior forward Brett Tester led Andover with 19 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots. Teammate senior guard Danny Holcomb added 18 points, including four three-pointers.

• ROSEMOUNT 81, BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 77 (2 OTs): Junior forward Zachary Vraa scored 23 points as the Irish outlasted the Jaguars in double overtime in the Lake. Rosemount outscored the Jaguars 7-3 in the second overtime. Senior guard Chad Gilmer led the Jaguars with 21 points, including two free throws at the end of regulation to send it to overtime.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL

• CHAMPLIN PARK 68, MAPLE GROVE 63: Senior forward Ashley Witte made a three-pointer with two minutes left, breaking a 58-58 tie and leading the Rebels past the Crimson in the Northwest Suburban. Champlin Park made all 10 of its free throws in the second half. Junior guard Rachel Leitz led the Rebels with 20 points while Witte finished with 15.

• EDEN PRAIRIE 59, APPLE VALLEY 58: Sophomore guard Morgan Van-Riper Rose made a three-pointer with one minute remaining, giving Eden Prairie the lead for good in its Lake victory. Jazmyne Woodson had a game-high 20 points for Apple Valley, which led by six points with four minutes left.

• NORTHFIELD 61, HOLY ANGELS 60: Sophomore guard Elena Huber made a three-point basket with 17 seconds left, giving the Raiders a victory over the Stars in the Missota. Northfield junior forward Morgan Zabel scored her season average of 26 points.

GIRLS' HOCKEY

• BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 3, CHISAGO LAKES 1: Jordyn Burns scored one goal and set up another 50 seconds apart in the final two minutes, lifting the Red Knights over the Wildcats in the North Suburban. Burns also scored the first goal for the Red Knights shorthanded, tying it at one.

• HENRY SIBLEY 4, SOUTH ST. PAUL 3: Senior forward Kaley Flynn scored with 1 minute, 31 seconds remaining, giving the Warriors a victory over the Packers in the Classic Suburban. It was Henry Sibley's first victory over South St. Paul since 1999.

• HOPKINS 8, ARMSTRONG 1: Forward Cara Johnson had four goals, including the first two, leading the Royals past the Falcons in the Classic Lake.

• PARK OF COTTAGE GROVE 3, CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 2, OT: Michelle House scored 6 minutes, 54 seconds into overtime, lifting the Wolfpack over the Raiders in the Suburban East.

BOYS' HOCKEY

• BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 5, EASTVIEW 0: Senior forward A.J. Siiro had two goals and one assist as the Class 2A, No. 1 Jaguars ended Eastview's six-game winning streak in the Lake Conference. The Jaguars outshot Eastview 41-15.

• ROSEVILLE 3, RIVER FALLS (WIS.) 2: Junior forward Tom Debace scored with 13 seconds left, capping Roseville's three-goal comeback in the final two minutes against River Falls. Debace also scored the tying goal.
