Continued: Girls' hockey: Umland's hat trick sparks Wayzata

• WAYZATA 5, ANOKA 2: Senior forward Alison Umland had a hat trick, including two power-play goals, leading the Trojans past the Tornadoes in both teams' season opener Tuesday in Plymouth. Umland scored Wayzata's last three goals, the second coming at 11:43 of the third period after Anoka had pulled within 3-2. She also had an assist. Sophomore forward Mackenzie Shannon scored the Trojans' first two goals.

• EDINA 6, CHASKA 2: Suzy Lundeen and Ellie Sitek each had two goals in the Hornets' victory over the Hawks. Lundeen also had two assists. Teammate Christine Brauer had one goal and two assists. Hayley Rutledge scored both goals for Chaska.

• MINNEAPOLIS NOVAS 6, ST. LOUIS PARK 4: Quinn Mathewson scored with 2 minutes, 34 seconds remaining, breaking a tie and rallying the Novas past the Orioles. Teammate Chloe Behm scored her second goal into an empty net with 36 seconds left. Cecelia Hardacker also had two goals for the Novas, including the tying one midway through the third period.

• MOUND-WEST. 4, ARMSTRONG 3: Junior Jeana Van Dyne scored the game-winning goal on a power play early in the third period as the White Hawks edged the Falcons. Teammate sophomore Taylor Kuehl scored the first three goals and assisted on the game-winner. Junior Cassie Leoni had two goals and one assist for Armstrong.

• NORTH WRIGHT COUNTY 2, ST. CLOUD TECH 1: Emmy Johnson and Kasey Blomberg scored unassisted goals in the second period of the RiverHawks' victory over the Tigers. Blomberg's goal was her seventh this season.

• ORONO 4, NEW PRAGUE 1: The Spartans won their second game behind two goals and one assist from sophomore forward Shea Noerenberg.

• ROSEMOUNT 3, RED WING 1: Sophomore forward Allison Micheletti scored all three of Rosemount's goals in the second period, lifting the Irish over the Wingers. Micheletti opened the scoring with an unassisted short-handed goal.

• SOUTH ST. PAUL 5, ROCHESTER JOHN MARSHALL 1: Freshman Sam LaShomb recorded a hat trick as the unbeaten Packers won their third consecutive game, defeating the Rockets. LaShomb, a defender who has six goals this season, also assisted on South St. Paul's opening goal. Teammate sophomore center Emily Reibert had three assists.

• ST. PAUL UNITED 8, COOPER 1: Center Breanna Herzog scored four goals, leading St. Paul United past the Hawks. St. Paul United scored four goals in each of the first two periods.
