Anders Lee
Runs and passes equally well. Makes great decisions. Rushed for more than 1,100 yards and 32 TDs and passed for 1,982 yards. A Division I prospect in hockey, also.
James Peterson
Dual threat to run or pass - 2,458 yards passing, 905 rushing. Runs the Bengals' spread offense to perfection. Led them to the Class 5A championship game by beating Eden Prairie and Cretin-Derham Hall back-to-back.
Stephen Johnson
Led the metro in rushing with 2,231 yards and 29 TDs in 11 games. More than 4,000 yards in the past two years. Runs strong between the tackles, always gets yards after contact.
Marcus Binns
Finished with 1,275 rushing yards despite missing four games because of a knee injury. Runs through tackles. Interest from Air Force, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
Marcus Williams
Very fast. Can go the distance at any time. Caught 42 passes for 1,021 yards (24.3 yards per catch) and 10 TDs. Also rushed for 157 yards and intercepted a pass as a DB.
Cecil Doe
Great size and speed. Very fluid, uses his body well, excellent hands. Had 21 catches for 546 yards and seven TDs.
Ra'Shede Hageman
Impressive physical specimen with soft hands and speed that belies his size (6-6, 250). Caught 11 touchdown passes. Committed to Gophers.
Ed Olson
Committed to Gophers, following in the footsteps of his father. Great combination of size and agility. Uses his hands well, dominant at the point of attack.
Seantrel Henderson
Considered the top offensive line prospect in the country in 2010 class. Tremendous size (6-7, 305), great hands, exceptional lateral quickness.
Dijon Sanders
Also a wrestler, skilled at hand-to-hand battles. Aggressive and fiery. Runs well, has great leverage and delivers a crushing block.
Jimmy Gjere
Great athlete, excellent feet, runs well and overpowers opponents. Getting interest from D-I schools. North Suburban Lineman of the Year.
Rob Bathe
Dominated his tackle position. Quick off the ball, rarely allows a sack. Excellent leverage and does not allow opponents to speed rush outside.
Kevin Potas
Enters the state championship game with 26 tackles for a loss and 18 sacks, making him one of the metro area's most fearsome pass rushers. Also has four forced fumbles.
Matt Garin
The Gophers recruit is a great example of a self-made player. He was a defensive leader for the Lightning and has a "good motor," according to head coach Kelly Sherwin.
Di-Jon Starr
An emerging star who spearheaded Blaine's defensive resurgence this season. The Bengals upended Eden Prairie and Cretin-Derham Hall in the state playoffs.
Leevon Perry
Has amazing speed for his size (6-4, 245). The focus of opposing offenses has accumulated 228 tackles in his career and is being recruited by Division I programs.
Cole Jirik
Moved from DE to LB in the third game of the season. He has made more than 300 tackles in his career. Jirik dominated in Northfield's state semifinal victory over Orono.
Brett Skoog
Despite stature (5-11, 185) he is a sure tackler. Skoog had 21 tackles in Orono's section final victory over Totino-Grace and had 101 solo tackles going into the state tournament.
Zach Budish
The face of the Hornets' defense the past three three years. He averaged more than 10 tackles per game before suffering a knee injury late in the year. Has committed to the U for hockey.
Varmah Sonie
Had six interceptions this season, including one he ran back for a touchdown. Sonie also returned three punts for touchdowns. A true shutdown corner and a great athlete.
Marc Sonnen
• Sonnen did it all for the Titans. He led the team in tackles and also had three interceptions. On offense, he was the team's quarterback and responsible for much of the team's overall success.
A.J. Van Voorhis
• An opposing coach called him, "The best player on one of the best defenses in the metro." He has very good cover skills and a nose for the football.
Ian Goldsmith
• The three-year starter recorded 191 tackles and eight interceptions in his career. Goldsmith was the Suburban East Conference defensive player of the year.
Harry Pitera
• A game-changer with five blocked punts this season. He also played running back and linebacker for the Raiders. He rushed for 345 yards and seven TDs, and also had 96 tackles (17 for loss).
