Mounds View upends Cretin-Derham Hall

• MOUNDS VIEW 76, CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 70: Ryan Kaczynski scored 31 points to help the Mustangs upend the Raiders, ranked No. 2 in Class 4A boys basketball. Joe Rosga scored 29 points and Sam Neumann contributed 22 points for the Raiders.

• MINNETONKA 95, ROGERS 90: Junior guard Amar Miller scored 24 points — 18 in the second half — to help the Skippers ranked No. 5 in Class 4A, outlast the Royals. Miller was 9-of-9 from the free-throw line.

• APPLE VALLEY 98, LAKEVILLE SOUTH 61: Jordan Bolton scored 27 points and Gary Trent Jr. scored 19 to lead the Eagles, ranked No. 1 in Class 4A, past the Cougars. Brenon Larson-Gulsvig made six three-point field goals and scored 31 points to lead the Cougars.

• EDEN PRAIRIE 100, ST. PAUL JOHNSON 56: The Eagles, ranked No. 7 in Class 4A, raced to a 24-point halftime lead and cruised to the nonconference victory over the Governors, ranked No. 2 in Class 3A. Grantham Gillard scored 25 to lead the Eagles, while the Governors were pace by Eric Elliot's 18 points.

• HASTINGS 67, HILL-MURRAY 65: Craig Nielsen's layup with 2.5 seconds remaining lifted Hastings to the Metro East Conference victory. Sam Skoyen scored 29 to lead Hastings. Nielsen finished with 13 points. Marshawn Wilson scored 25 points to lead the Pioneers.

• ORONO 57, BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 49: Patrick Codute had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead the Spartans, ranked No. 8 in Class 3A, past the Red Knights.

• MINNEAPOLIS HENRY 63, FRIDLEY 61: Julian Jackson's field goal with eight seconds remaining lifted the Patriots past the Tigers. Jonathan Conyers, a 6-9 senior, scored 31 points to lead Fridley.

• MINNEAPOLIS SOUTH 75, ST. LOUIS PARK 63: The Tigers pulled away from a two-point halftime lead for the nonconference victory. Senior guard Taron Myers scored 24 points to pace the Tigers.

• BLAINE 75, COON RAPIDS 46: The Bengals outscored the Cardinals, 44-19, in the second half en route to the Northwest Suburban Conference victory. Senior center Sha'Ron Miller scored 18 points to lead the Bengals.

• ELK RIVER 78, CENTENNIAL 74: Sophomore Gabi Haack scored 24 points and junior Abi Scheid scored 22 to help the Elks outlast the Northwest Suburban conference rival Cougars. Senior Jaycie Gerding scored 29 to lead the Cougars.

• FRIDLEY 68, LEGACY CHRISTIAN 56: Junior guard Suzanne Gilreath made seven three-point field goals and scored 36 points to lead the Tigers to the nonconference victory.

• MOUNDS VIEW 57, CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 50: Jacky Volkert scored 33 points to pace the Mustangs past the Raiders.

• OSSEO 60, CHAMPLIN PARK 57: Kiara Russell scored 31 points to help the Orioles fend off the Rebels. Hanna Crymble scored 27 to pace the Rebels.

• MINNEAPOLIS SOUTH 89, MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST 82: Adria Stewart (28 points) and Morgan Hill (25 points) combined for 53 points to help the Tigers outlast the Lakers. Keyia Parker scored 31 to lead the Lakers.

• MINNEAPOLIS HENRY 62, ST. PAUL JOHNSON 58: Dariel Lipscomb had 18 points and 23 rebounds to highlight the Patriots' nonconference victory.

• ORONO 4, CHANHASSEN 1: Senior Jon Flakne had 36 saves to lead the Spartans, ranked No. 9 in Class 1A, to their first victory of the season.

HOCKEY • GIRLS

• EDEN PRAIRIE 1, HOPKINS 1 (OT): Molly Dionne had 35 saves to help Hopkins earn a tie with Class 2A top-ranked Eden Prairie. Corbin Boyd scored at 5:26 of the first to give Hopkins a 1-0 lead, but the Eagles tied the game on Charly Dahlquist's goal with 25 seconds remaining in the first period.

• MAPLE GROVE 9, NORTH METRO 3: Sophomore Taylor Wente had three goals and an assist and Maia Martinez scored two goals to lead the Crimson, ranked No. 2 in Class 2A, to the victory.

• LAKEVILLE SOUTH 7, FARMINGTON 1: Janna Haeg had two goals and an assist to help the Cougars, ranked No. 8 in Class 2A, skate to the South Suburban victory.

NOTES

• Edina played host to Burnsville and Champlin Park on Tuesday in a triangular wrestling meet. It was the first home wrestling meet in 20 years for Edina, which ended a long-time cooperative with Richfield prior to this season. Champlin Park defeated Burnsville (62-17) and Edina (62-18), while Edina edged Burnsville, 42-41.
