The senior capped his prep career with a stellar effort. Brown tied a Prep Bowl record with three interceptions to key the Bulldogs' 24-6 victory over DeLaSalle in the Class 4A championship game Friday.

"We happy for the team and we're happy for him with the game he played," Bulldogs coach Dwight Lundeen said. "Dawson had his best game of the year."

Brown, a safety, also had a game-high nine tackles, including two tackles for loss and a sack as Becker forced six turnovers. On offense, he had two receptions for 16 yards.

"He had a great year," Lundeen said. "What really stood out to the coaching staff is that he kept getting better as the season went along."

Brown's three interceptions matched his season total for the Bulldogs' first 12 games.

"He's a wonderful kid," Lundeen said. "He's president of the [Fellowship of Christian Athletes] and a great student."

The senior ran 26 times for 230 yards and three touchdowns to fuel a 28-27 victory over Totino-Grace in the Class 6A championship game Friday. His 75-yard TD run with 2:46 left broke a 21-21 tie and gave the Eagles their first lead.

The senior point guard tied a school record with 47 points in the Beacons' season-opening 92-85 overtime victory over Cristo Rey Jesuit on Friday. Moore's 22 free throws set a school single-game record. He also had eight assists, five steals and four rebounds.

Edina • hockey

The junior forward had eight points in the Hornets' season-opening victories over Holy Family and Wayzata. He had six assists in the Hornets' 11-0 victory over Holy Family on Friday. On Saturday, he scored goals in a 4-3 victory over Wayzata.

GABBIE HUGHES

Centennial • hockey

The freshman forward had four goals and an assist in the Cougars' 6-1 victory over Cooper/Amstrong on Saturday. Hughes is tied for the Northwest Suburban Conference lead in points (14). She has eight goals and six assists in five games. She scored the Cougars' lone goal in a 5-1 loss to Maple Grove last Tuesday.

Minnetonka • hockey

The junior forward had three goals in a 7-1 victory over Chanhassen/Chaska on Thursday and a goal and an assist in a 4-1 victory over Stillwater on Saturday. Norby, who has committed to play at Wisconsin, leads the Skippers (6-1) with nine goals.

NAOMI ROGGE

Eden Prairie • hockey

The sophomore forward had two goals in the Eagles' 4-3 victory over Hill-Murray on Tuesday. Her first goal broke a 2-2 tie. Her second goal gave the Eagles a 4-2 lead. Rogge also scored in the Eagles' 5-2 victory over Blake on Thursday, On the season, she has five goals in six games.
