• ROSEMOUNT 3, CHASKA 2: Ben Lemke's two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Irish a come-from-behind victory and saddled Chaska pitcher Brad Hand with his first loss of the season. Hand pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts, but was outdueled by Rosemount's Blake Schwartz, who gave up two hits, struck out 13 and held Chaska scoreless over the last six innings.
• CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 18, ROSEVILLE 4: The Raiders are getting things cranked up at the right time, winning for the 11th time in their past 12 games. Dan Tipping went 3-for-3 with a grand slam, a triple and six RBI.
• BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 7, EASTVIEW 4: Matt Kruger and Nolan Kruger each went 3-for-4 to lead the Jaguars over the Lake Conference-leading Lightning.
• ST. ANTHONY 12, MINNEHAHA ACADEMY 9: The No. 1, Class 2A Huskies increased their lead in the Tri-Metro Conference to two games over the second-place Redhawks. Nicho Roessler went 3-for-4 and Calvin Walker and Ryan Schrepfer each homered for St. Anthony.
• ARMSTRONG 12, WAYZATA 9: The Falcons rallied from a three-goal halftime deficit. Leslie Saucier scored three goals for Armstrong, which had lost two previous games against Wayzata.
• EDEN PRAIRIE 18, CHASKA 2: Eden Prairie improved its record to 14-0 on the season behind five goals from Caz-Marie Norwich and four from Makenna Borg. The Eagles, who have won four consecutive state championships, are 74-1-1 over the past four years.
• PARK OF COTTAGE GROVE 6, MOUNDS VIEW 5: Sam Hildebrandt has established herself as the premier power hitter in the metro. The senior pitcher smacked two home runs - a two-run shot in the bottom of the first inning and a game-winning walk-off homer in the bottom of the seventh inning. Hildebrandt now has 11 home runs on the season.
• HOPKINS 1, WAYZATA 0: Alyssa Nyberg scored the game's only run on an RBI single by Whitney Nelson. Hopkins pitcher Jenna Peterson scattered five hits and struck out 10 as the Royals won their 10th game in a row and moved into a tie for first place with Wayzata in the Classic Lake Conference. The two teams play again today at Wayzata with the league championship at stake.
• Forest Lake's Betsy Kelly birdied the first hole to win a playoff against Henry Sibley's Lizzy Carl to win the Red Wing Invitational on Wednesday at Mississippi National Golf Links. Both Kelly and Carl shot 4-over-par 76 for 18 holes, leading to the playoff. Minnewaska Area, the 2006 and 2007 Class 1A champions, won the team competition, with a score of 326.
