• APPLE VALLEY 10, BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 0: Junior pitcher Dylan Prichard threw a two-hit shutout as the Eagles beat the Red Knights in the final of the Louisville Slugger wood bat tournament on Saturday at Legion Field in Apple Valley. Prichard, who struck out six, only threw 70 pitches. Freshman Aaron Gretz had a pair of hits and three RBI to lead the Apple Valley (10-5) offensive attack. Teammate senior Brandon Peterson also drove in three runs.
• ARMSTRONG 9, MINNETONKA 8: Junior Mike Jantscher went 2-2 with two walks, scored four runs and had two RBI, as the Falcons held on to beat the Skippers in the Classic Lake.
• PARK of COTTAGE GROVE 12, IRONDALE 9: The Wolfpack tandem of Brian Short and Ryan Nordtvedt put on a hitting clinic against the Knights. Short went 4-for-5, including two doubles, and scored three runs while Nordtvedt went 3-for-4, also with two doubles, and drove in three runs in the nonconference victory.
• BLAINE 4, COON RAPIDS 2: Junior left fielder B.J. Solomon hit a three-run homer in the top of the eighth inning, lifting the Bengals over the Cardinals in the Northwest Suburban. Teammate Cody Puchalla earned the victory on the mound, allowing one earned run in six innings of relief work.
• EASTVIEW INVITATIONAL: Park of Cottage Grove's bats weren't affected by the weather. Senior Sam Hildebrandt and junior Ashley Kleuver each hit two home runs, as the Wolfpack beat Eastview 13-6 in the championship game. Park (15-2) also shut out Maple Grove 8-0 and Henry Sibley 11-0. Hildebrandt threw a two-hitter against Maple Grove and Kleuver spun a no-hitter against Henry Sibley.
• MANKATO EAST INVITATIONAL: Senior Johnny Greene of Eastview successfully defended his title in the two-day meet, and led the Lightning to the team championship. Greene's two-day total of 3-over-par 147 tied the meet record established by Drew Dvorak of Litchfield in 2004. Eastview won the team title with a score of 626, four strokes better than first-day leader New Prague.
• CARDINAL INVITATIONAL: Katie Bolling of Irondale won the individual title on the third playoff hole in the 20-team meet at the Vintage in Staples. She shared honors with Courtney Boe of Minnewaska and Ali Nelson of Moorhead at 2-over-par 74. Minnewaska won the team crown with a 304.
