SOFTBALL
• PARK of COTTAGE GROVE 3, WHITE BEAR LAKE 0: Junior Ashley Kluever was perfect Thursday. The junior pitched a perfect game, leading the Class 3A, No. 5 Wolfpack past the Bears in the Suburban East in Cottage Grove. She struck out nine. Junior Kelsey Waltz went 2-for-3 with a two run double in the bottom of the third inning.
• ANNANDALE 5, DELANO 4: Senior third baseman A.J. Hoefer knows how to deliver in pressure situations. She ripped a tying two-run double with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, then plated the winning run with a double in the eighth.
• BLOOMINGTON KENNEDY 4, CHASKA 3: Sophomore catcher Chelsea Servin’s two-out double in the bottom of the seventh scored Hailey Ohl with the winning run as the Eagles edged the Hawks in the Lake.
• HILL-MURRAY 6, HENRY SIBLEY 1: Senior third baseman Lisa Grundtner had two hits and two RBI, leading the Pioneers past the Warriors in the Classic Suburban.
• HOPKINS 12, ARMSTRONG 2: Junior Whitney Nelson hit two home runs, leading the Royals past the Falcons in the Classic Lake. Nelson hit a three-run homer in the second and two-run shot in the fourth.
• TARTAN 1, MAHTOMEDI 0: Titans sophomore pitcher Kali Wilson shut out the Zephyrs on four hits in the Classic Suburban. She struck out nine.
• WAYZATA 1, MINNETONKA 0: Junior pitcher Anna Twinem threw a one-hit shutout as the Trojans beat the Skippers in the Classic Lake.
• WEST LUTHERAN 6, LESTER PRAIRIE/HOLY TRINITY 5: Jenna Gehl delivered a two-out run-scoring single in the top of the seventh, lifting the Warriors over Bulldogs in the MCAA. Ashley Jensen started the two-out rally, walking and stealing second to set up Gehl’s game-winning hit. Jensen went 2-for-3, including a triple, and had three RBI. The Bulldogs’ Amanda Heimerl went 3-3 with a double.
BASEBALL
• MINNETONKA 12, HOPKINS 2: The Skippers quickly took any drama out of their matchup with the Royals. Minnetonka scored seven runs in the first two innings en route to a five-inning Classic Lake victory, and wrapped up at least a share of the conference title. Senior first baseman Alex Satterfield had two doubles and drove in four runs for the Skippers.
• BECKER 1, BUFFALO 0: Senior Ben Buchholz limited the Bison to two hits as the Bulldogs won the Mississippi 8 matchup. Buchholz also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double.
• MONTICELLO 12, CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI 5: The Magic hand the Bluejackets their first loss of the season behind the bats of junior Mike Olson and senior Derek Pogatchnic. Olson went 2-for-4, including a double and triple, and had three RBI while Pogatchnic went 3-for-3 and scored three runs in the Mississippi 8 matchup.
• SHAKOPEE 4, RED WING 2: Senior pitcher Chase Hentges (3-0) threw a five-hitter while string out 13 as the Sabers rallied to beat the Wingers in the Missota. Shakopee scored all four runs in the top of the sixth.
• TARTAN 11, MAHTOMEDI 1: The Titans belted three home runs in rolling past the Zephyrs in the Classic Suburban. Chris Mariano hit a three-run homer and Aaron Hoverson and Sam Ryan hit solo shots.
