TIMBERWOLVES SHOOTOUT

High school basketball fans can see some of the nation's top Division I recruits, including two juniors from Minnesota going head-to-head, at the Timberwolves Shootout on Saturday at Target Center.

Four games: Five top Minnesota teams and one each from Kansas, Wisconsin and Iowa.

First and last: The opening game features Anders Broman of Lakeview Christian, who recently became Minnesota's all-time leading scorer with more than 4,000 points. The last game, Apple Valley vs. Robbinsdale Cooper, matches up top junior recruits Tyus Jones and Rashad Vaughn.

Out-of-state sizzle: Onalaska is the defending Division 2 champion in Wisconsin. Blue Valley Northwest has been a state runner-up in Kansas for three consecutive years.

Schedule: 9 a.m. -- Lakeview Christian vs. Onalaska (Wis.)

11 a.m. -- DeLaSalle vs. Blue Valley Northwest (Kan.)

1 p.m. -- Roseville vs. West Des Moines Valley (Iowa)

3 p.m. -- Apple Valley vs. Cooper

Tickets: $15, good for all four games and a free ticket to the Timberwolves game against Portland at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Prominent alums: Twenty-four players from the 16 previous years' games have gone on to NBA careers, including the Timberwolves' Kevin Love and All-Star Josh Smith.
