Broman moves closer to scoring milestone • LAKEVIEW CHRISTIAN 77, DULUTH DENFELD 75: Anders Broman scored 35 points to lead the Lions past the Hunters in Duluth on Thursday and move within seven points of becoming the most prolific scorer in state boys' basketball history. Broman now has 4,080 points in his career. Kevin Noreen, a 2009 graduate of Minnesota Transitions, scored 4,086 points. The next game for Broman and the Lions, ranked No. 6 in Class 1A, is Dec. 27 against Mesabi East in the first round of the Hibbing Tournament.

• EDINA 72, HUDSON (WIS.) 53: Graham Woodward scored 23 points and Reggie Lynch had 20 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocks to lead the Hornets past the Raiders.

• HOPKINS 78, MINNEAPOLIS HENRY 59: Hopkins, ranked No. 5 in Class 4A, pulled away in the final seven minutes against Henry. The Patriots got within five with seven minutes left.

• MARANATHA 62, MINNEAPOLIS EDISON 36: Grantham Gillard scored 14 points to help the Mustangs, ranked No. 1 in Class 1A, remain unbeaten.

• OSSEO 60, CHAMPLIN PARK 53: The Orioles, ranked No. 6 in Class 4A, rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit for the victory. Ian Theisen had 19 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Orioles (6-1).

• BLAINE 73, ANOKA 59: Matt Barthels scored 20 points and Justin Mbanfo added 18 to lead the Bengals past the Tornadoes.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Johnson, Starr lead DeLaSalle past Visitation • DELASALLE 81, VISITATION 55: Tyseanna Johnson had 18 points, 10 rebounds, nine steals, and nine assists to pace the Islanders, ranked No. 3 in Class 3A. Allina Starr contributed 18 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists for the Islanders (7-2).

• EDINA 69, MINNEAPOLIS SOUTHWEST 44: Jill Morton scored 19 points and MC McGrory had 18 to lead the Hornets, ranked No. 8 in Class 4A, to the victory.

• ANDOVER 60, ELK RIVER 53: McKenzie Becker scored 17 points to help Andover rally for a victory over the Elks. Elk River led by three at halftime.

• GLENCOE-SILVER LAKE 46, MAYER LUTHERAN 37: Clarissa Ober had 23 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Panthers to victory.

• ST. ANTHONY 45, CONCORDIA (ROSEVILLE) 39: Kelly Lawson and Chloe Gintner each scored 13 points to help St. Anthony outlast the Beacons.

BOYS' HOCKEY

No. 3 Hill-Murray shuts out Tartan • HILL-MURRAY 6, TARTAN 0: Ryan Black had two goals and an assist and Josh French had a goal and three assists to lead the Pioneers, ranked No. 3 in Class 2A. John Dugas had 25 saves for the Pioneers (7-1). The loss was the first of the season for Tartan (8-1).

• BLAINE 6, ARMSTRONG 1: Nic Simpson had a goal and two assists and Ian Scheid had three assists to lead the Bengals, ranked No. 5 in Class 2A, to the victory.

• EDEN PRAIRIE 4, ELK RIVER/ZIMMERMAN 2: Jack Keeley and Andrew Knudsen scored 80 seconds apart to stake the Eagles to a 2-0 lead in the first four minutes in their first-round victory over the Elks in the Edina Invitational. After the Elks, ranked No. 10 in 2A, pulled within 2-1 early in the second period on a goal by Chase Springman, a shorthanded goal by Harry Pajor restored the Eagles' two-goal lead. Springman scored in the first minute of the third period to pull the Elks within 3-2, but Steven Spinner's goal with 4:46 left made it 4-2.

• EDINA 6, GRAND RAPIDS 2: The Hornets, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, opened a 4-0 lead in the first period en route to a victory in the other first-round game of the Edina Invitational. Connor Hurley had two goals and an assist and Tyler Nanne a goal and an assist for the Hornets.

• HUTCHINSON 5, WACONIA 0: Kellyn Buss made 30 saves to help the Tigers earn the shutout victory despite being outshot 30-15. Hutchinson scored four goalsin the second period.

• DELANO/ROCKFORD 6, ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE 2: Adam McLain had three goals and an assist to pace Delano/Rockford.

GIRLS' HOCKEY

Wayzata edges Shakopee • WAYZATA 3, SHAKOPEE 2: Sophia Shaver scored two goals to help the Trojans, ranked No. 9 in Class 2A, earn a victory over the Sabres. Shaver's first goal gave Wayzata a 1-0 lead and her second goal -- with 11:19 remaining in the third period -- gave Wayzata a 3-1 lead.

• EAGAN 3, BURNSVILLE 2: Megan Wolfe scored two goals to lead Eagan. Kelsey Walsh's goal with 12:15 left broke a 2-2 tie.

• HOPKINS 8, ALEXANDRIA 1: Corbin Boyd had three goals and three assists and Nina Rodgers had three goals and two assists to lead Hopkins to a nonconference victory over the Cardinals.

• NEW PRAGUE 5, FARMINGTON 0: Catie Skaja had a goal and three assists and Sophie Puente had 19 saves to lead the Trojans, ranked No. 9 in Class 1A.

• ORONO 6, MOUND-WESTONKA 3: Rebekah Smith had two goals and an assist to lead Orono, ranked No. 6 in Class 1A.

• ROGERS 4, HUTCHINSON 0: Madison Lehn scored three goals and Michelle Klimstra had 17 saves to help Rogers skate past the Tigers.

NOTES

• Holy Family sophomore forward Shane Gersich has committed to North Dakota. Gersich, a nephew of the Broten brothers from Roseau who played for the Gophers, had 30 goals and 60 points last season as a ninth-grader.
