• APPLE VALLEY 12, EASTVIEW 5: There isn't a baseball team swinging the bats as well as Apple Valley. The Eagles scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning to erase an early four-run deficit, knocking crosstown-rival Eastview (9-1) from the ranks of the unbeaten Tuesday in Lake Conference play at Apple Valley High School. The Eagles (6-3) have scored 47 runs in their past three games. Seniors Trent Pray and Jordan Buck each had two hits for Apple Valley. Pray scored three runs.
• BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 5, BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 2: Matt Voldness scattered four hits and struck out six in six innings as the Jaguars defeated the Red Knights in nonconference play. Matt Kruger went 2-for-3, including a solo home run in the fifth inning, with three RBI to lead the Jaguars. Steve Zierke and Mike Juberian accounted for four of the Red Knights' five hits, as each had a single and a double.
• BUFFALO 1, BIG LAKE 0: Junior Brooks Beilke threw a four-hit shutout, leading the Bison past the Hornets in the Mississippi 8. Beilke has given up only five hits in his two outings. Senior center fielder Steven Kiphuth doubled to right in the bottom of the first and later scored on an error.
• EDINA 10, HILL-MURRAY 5: Andy Bartz hit two homers and drove in three runs as the Hornets defeated the Pioneers in nonconference play. Erik Heim went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBI and Erik Nelson added a homer and two RBI for the Hornets.
• MAPLE GROVE 2, BLAINE 1 (10 innings): Junior Erik Sorensen laid down a suicide squeeze bunt with one out in the bottom of the 10th, giving the unbeaten Crimson (10-0) a Northwest Suburban victory over the Bengals. Maple Grove has allowed only six runs in its past five games.
• PRIOR LAKE 5, NEW PRAGUE 4: Senior left fielder Alex Flaschenriem hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth, lifting the Lakers over the Trojans in the Missota. Flaschenriem went 3-for-3, including a triple, and scored three runs. T.J. Larson pitched the first 6 1/3 innings to earn the victory for the Lakers (6-2).
• ROSEMOUNT 6, PARK OF COTTAGE GROVE 2: Winning pitcher Justin Wallace scattered seven hits while striking out 14 as the Irish topped the Wolfpack in a nonconference game.
• ROSEVILLE 4, WHITE BEAR LAKE 3 (8 innings): Sophomore Allie Duellman knows how to perform under pressure. She drove in the winning run with a one-out single in the top of the eighth inning, lifting the Raiders over the Bears in the Suburban East. Duellman's bases-empty home run in the sixth gave Roseville a 3-2 lead. White Bear Lake tied it in the bottom half of the inning on an error. Senior Whitney Strantz hit a two-run homer in the fourth for the Bears to tie the score 2-2.
• BIG LAKE 13, ZIMMERMAN 2: Senior Chelsea Erickson hit two two-run homers and her sister Lindsay Erickson, a sophomore, hit a solo home run in Big Lake's 13-run second inning as the Hornets beat the Thunder in the Mississippi 8.
• BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 4, LAKEVILLE NORTH 1: Samantha McGee continues to be dominant in the her final season. The senior pitched a four-hitter, striking out 12, as the Jaguars beat the Panthers in the Lake. Rachel Brummer had two hits and two RBI while Ashley Snedeker had two hits and scored two runs for the Jaguars.
• CHASKA 5, APPLE VALLEY 0: Ari Althoff had two doubles and drove in three runs as the Hawks beat the Eagles in the Lake.
• EDINA 3, HOPKINS 0: The Hornets (5-4) climbed back over the .500 mark as junior Carrie Nelson shut out the Royals on two hits in the Classic Lake. Nelson also singled home Edina's last run. Senior first baseman Nicole Slomiany provided Nelson with the only run she needed with an RBI triple in the third.
• FARMINGTON 9, HOLY ANGELS 2: Sam Jensen went 4-for-4 with two triples and scored four runs, lifting the Tigers over the Stars in the Missota.
• SPRING LAKE PARK 8, COOPER 0: Panthers sophomore Sara DuPaul fired a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts, shutting out the Hawks in the North Suburban.
• WAYZATA 12, STILLWATER 0: Junior first baseman Nina Ferguson went 4-for-4 with three RBI, leading the Trojans past the Ponies in a nonconference matchup. Senior Emma Alwin threw a three-hit shutout.
• EDEN PRAIRIE 11, BLOOMINGTON KENNEDY 1: Senior Abbie Pezon and sophomore McKenna Borg each scored three goals as Eden Prairie won the battle of Eagles in the Lake.
