Broman scores 39, closes in on 4,000 career points• COLUMBIA HEIGHTS 79, LAKEVIEW CHRISTIAN 72: Anders Broman got his points -- 39 of them -- but the Hylanders held the rest of the Lions in check and emerged with the victory Friday night. Broman, a senior guard, is eight points shy of become the second boy in state history to score 4,000 career points. Broman is expected to reach that milestone early in Saturday's game against Heritage Christian. Kevin Noreen of Minnesota Transitions set the boys' scoring record in 2009 with 4,086 career points.

• ROSEVILLE 92, ST. PAUL JOHNSON 78: Who says Jacques Perra is a just a football player? Perra, a quarterback on the football team, drilled eight three-pointers and finished with a game-high 27 points as the Raiders improved to 4-0. MacKenzie Johnson added 21 points for the No. 6, 4A Raiders. Quashingam Smith-Pugh led the Governors (1-1) with 21 points.

• EDINA 70, BLAKE 62: Expected to be one of the top teams in Class 4A, Edina's 0-4 start was nothing short of shocking. The Hornets finally entered the win column, breaking in a brand-new gym floor with a victory over the No. 3, 3A Bears.

• COOPER 77, WAYZATA 76 [OT]: Rashad Vaughn scored 33 points - 25 of them after halftime - to carry the Hawks to the overtime victory. Zach Robertson scored 28 points for Wayzata, which lost its fourth consecutive game.

• LAKEVILLE NORTH 84, FARMINGTON 63: Junior guard J.P. Mancura hit the 30-point mark for the third time in five games, scoring a season-high 36 as the Panthers remained unbeaten (5-0).

• PARK CENTER 59, CENTENNIAL 58: Quinton Hooker scored the final four points of the game as Park Center rallied past Centennial. Hooker finished with 21 points.

• EDEN PRAIRIE 54, PRIOR LAKE 45: The Eagles handed Prior Lake its first loss of the season thanks to the play of its veteran backcourt. Guard Grant Shaeffer scored 15 points and Andre Wallace had 13 for Eden Prairie.

• CHASKA 67, ORONO 62: The Hawks trailed the host Spartans by eight at halftime, but rallied behind forward Gavin Bjorklund, who finished with 20 points.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Andover upsets Osseo• ANDOVER 74, OSSEO 63: Haydn Becker hit four three-pointers on the way to a team-high 17 points and Katie Yoder made 12 of 14 free-throw attempts and finished with 16 points as Andover led for nearly the entire game in its upset of the No. 8, 4A Orioles. Janay Morton scored 19 points to lead Osseo.

• NEW PRAGUE 51, SIMLEY 50: Annie Dittberner saved her best for the final minute of play, nailing a three-pointer to pull the Trojans to within a point with 30 seconds left in the game, then converted two free throws in the final two seconds to lift New Prague. Dittberner finished with 12 points.

• MOUNDS VIEW 60, WOODBURY 54: For the second consecutive game, the Mustangs allowed a star player to get her points but won by focusing on stopping the rest of the opponents. Woodbury's Kristina White, who signed with Division I Vermont in November, scored 21 points but Mounds View, which handed Forest Lake its only loss Tuesday, held the rest of the Royals in check. Katie McDaniels led the Mustangs with 26 points.

• FOREST LAKE 48, WHITE BEAR LAKE 38: Junior forward Bailey Norby scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Rangers bounced back from their first loss of the season. Junior guard Emily Peters converted seven of eight free throws down the stretch as the Rangers held off the winless Bears.

• PARK OF COTTAGE GROVE 67, EAST RIDGE 48:

The Wolfpack go as their big two, Larissa Lurken and Sydney Lamberty, go. Friday, the duo combined for 45 points - 28 for Lurken, 17 for Lamberty - as Park rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit.

• BLOOMINGTON KENNEDY 66, BURNSVILLE 31: The Martin sisters - senior Jade and eighth-graders Jasmyn - outscored the Blaze by themselves, combining for 37 points as the No. 3, 4A Eagles won their fourth in a row.

• CENTENNIAL 82, PARK CENTER 60: Park Center's rough start continued despite 26 points from junior forward Cayla McMcMorris. Jill Conrad scored 23 points and Daizah Morris scored 22 as Centennial sent the Pirates to their fourth loss in six games.

• NORTH BRANCH 66, ST. FRANCIS 56: Haley Huset scored 22 points and Sarah Lekson had 18 as North Branch pulled away in the second half and gave coach Dan Schindler his 400th career victory.

• SOUTH ST. PAUL 59, ST. PAUL JOHNSON 44: Alicia Sethre scored 19 points and Lexi Swenson chipped in with 15, making five of six free-throw attempts, for the Packers.

• CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 57, STILLWATER 51: The Raiders kept pace with Suburban East leaders Roseville and Mounds View - all three are 2-0 in conference play - behind 21 points from Jordan Alt.

• IRONDALE 55, FRIDLEY 31: After six consecutive losses, the Knights were finally victors, getting 15 points from Delaney Kohler and 12 from Brooke Degelau. Irondale led 24-6 at halftime.

BOYS' HOCKEY

Minneapolis goaltender shuts out Legacy• MINNEAPOLIS 3, LEGACY CHRISTIAN 0: Goalie T.J. Mosley made 21 saves and Henry Christman and Josh Huisken had two points each as the Novas earned a shutout in their Two Rivers Conference opener.

• ST. PAUL ACADEMY 3, CHISAGO LAKES 2 [OT]: Spartans' forward Jake Westfield scored in overtime to give St. Paul Academy its fifth consecutive victory.

GIRLS' HOCKEY

Roseville slips past Edina• ROSEVILLE 2, EDINA 1: Megan Tragiai's scored midway through the second period to break a 1-1 tie and goalie Brittany Boss stopped 35 of 36 shots, including all 12 she faced in a third-period blitz by Edina, to help Roseville to its third-straight victory. Boss has been the catalyst on the streak, giving up just two goals in those three games.
