Late-inning home run decides game as North St. Paul defeats Hill-Murray

• NORTH ST. PAUL 5, HILL-MURRAY 3: Matt Puhl hit a three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift North St. Paul to a victory over Hill-Murray on Wednesday. Puhl, whose blast broke a 2-2 tie, also pitched 1 2/3 innings in relief to earn the victory. It was the first loss of the season for Hill-Murray.

• CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 8, WHITE BEAR LAKE 2: The Raiders rode the long ball to victory, hitting five home runs. Junior David Bettenburg went 4-for-4 with two homers and a triple for Cretin.

• STILLWATER 4, FOREST LAKE 3: Shawn Marshall's bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh inning drove in the game-winning run. Marshall also hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning.

• ST. THOMAS ACADEMY 7, SOUTH ST. PAUL 5: Alex Jurich's grand slam capped a six-run fifth inning as the Cadets rallied from a 5-1 deficit.

• TARTAN 7, HENRY SIBLEY 1: Sam Ryan went 3-for-4 with two homers, three RBI and four runs, leading the Titans past the Warriors.

SOFTBALL

St. Anthony's Tusa is perfect again

• ST. ANTHONY 4, BROOKLYN CENTER 0: Rose Tusa was unhittable, retiring all 21 batters she faced in leading St. Anthony to its second victory of the season. Tusa, a senior, struck out 14 batters for her second career perfect game.

• EDEN PRAIRIE 10, CHASKA 0 (5 innings): Melissa Feste's home run sparked a seven-run fifth-inning for the Eagles. Senior Danielle McDonald pitched a four-hitter to earn her first varsity victory.

• HOPKINS 2, ARMSTRONG 0: Jenna Peterson came within one out of pitching a no-hitter for Hopkins. Peterson struck out nine batters and gave-up a two-out single in the seventh inning, Armstrong's only hit.
