CROSBY-IRONTON 66, ST. BERNARD'S 60

Free throws settle a close one

Recap: The teams remained locked in a tight battle until the final two minutes, when Crosby-Ironton relied on some clutch free-throw shooting to improve to 32-0. The score was tied 13 times, including at 58-58 with 2:21 to play.

Turning point: A layup by Derek Swanhorst with 32 seconds to play gave the Rangers a six-point lead.

The quote: "We just dug in the last five minutes. Our defense tightened, and we were able to make some free throws.'' -- Crosby-Ironton's Bryce Tesdahl

Noteworthy: Twenty-eight of the Rangers' 32 wins this season have been by 10 points or more. Tesdahl said there is no doubt St. Bernard's is the best team Crosby-Ironton has faced this season.
