Joe Christensen covered Major League Baseball for 15 years, including three seasons at the Baltimore Sun and eight at the Star Tribune, before switching to the college football beat. He’s a Faribault, Minn., native who graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1996. He covered Jim Wacker’s Gophers for the Minnesota Daily and also wrote about USC, UCLA and the Rose Bowl for the Riverside Press-Enterprise before getting this chance to cover football again.
Email Joe to talk about the Gophers.
According to TheBadgerNation, Tartan defensive back recruit Keelon Brookins -- a three-star recruit -- has decommitted from the Gophers and is now committed to play at Wisconsin.
It should be noted that Brookins' commitment in February -- nearly a year before signing day, making him the first recruit to commit to the Gophers for the Class of 2013 -- looked to be a soft verbal because he said at the time he still planned to make his other planned visits. And we are still several months away from the date he can put pen to paper. Here is the tweet from TheBadgerNation:
