Blake: Covering all the angles

Last update: March 4, 2008 - 7:02 PM

Blake coach John Hamre would like to think his team is ready for anything and everything in the state tournament. He's taught his players to be conscious of both ends of the ice.

"We try to be a complete team,'' Hamre said of the Bears (19-8-1). "We have a lot of belief in our goaltender, Peter Johnson, and rely on strong team defense. We emphasize that good defense leads to scoring chances."

The Bears are led in scoring by Josh Birkholz, with 33 goals and 25 assists. They have scored an average of four goals per game while giving up an average of 2.4.
