Mankato West: Living the dream

Last update: March 4, 2008 - 7:12 PM

It's been a dream season for the Scarlets, and who could blame them for not wanting it to end? Mankato West won the Big Nine Conference and set a team record for victories with 25 on the way to its first state tournament berth. Left winger Ricky Litchfield set the team single-season record for points (currently 96), and center Corey Leivermann, an MSU Mankato recruit, has 48 goals, also a team record.

The Scarlets average 7.3 goals and have scored 10 or more goals nine times. But the defense is underrated, having allowed as many as four goals only twice.
