Sibley forward commits to Badgers

Last update: February 21, 2008 - 12:42 AM

Mike Bruesewitz, a 6-8 junior forward from Henry Sibley, has made a verbal commitment to Wisconsin. Bruesewitz played at Litchfield until his family moved to the Twin Cities last summer.

The Wisconsin men's basketball team has had a steady influx of Minnesota recruits. Jon Leuer of Orono is a freshman with the Badgers, and this year's senior class in Minnesota includes Wisconsin signees Jordan Taylor of Benilde-St. Margaret's and Jared Berggren of Princeton.

Investigation at Breck

Breck school officials are looking into an incident in which boys' basketball coach John Gray disciplined a player on the team bus Saturday after a game in Mankato.

The incident -- confirmed Wednesday by the player's mother -- is believed to be the reason Gray did not coach the Mustangs in Tuesday's victory over Blake. Breck athletic director Brett Bergene, however, said Gray did not coach Tuesday's game because of illness.

"What I can tell you is that we are following our protocol whenever there is an incident reported," Breck communications director Jill Field said. "We're in a fact-finding phase."

Breck, a private school in Golden Valley, is 14-8 this season in boys' basketball. Its next game is Saturday at home against Orono.
