CLASS 2A | Section 4 | Quarterfinals
• CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 3, WHITE BEAR LAKE 2 (2OT): Senior leadership can play a big role in the playoffs. It paid dividends for Cretin-Derham Hall on Saturday at the St. Croix Valley Recreation Arena in Stillwater. Senior forward Alex Chlebeck scored an unassisted goal 9 minutes, 5 seconds into the second overtime, as the Raiders outlasted the Bears. Defender Kelly Wild scored the tying goal with 6 minutes, 47 seconds left. Senior forward Nicole Welch had two assists for Cretin-Derham Hall.
CLASS 2A | Section 3 | Semifinals
• EAGAN 2, BURNSVILLE 1: The Wildcats scored two first-period goals, and senior goalie Alyssa Grogan made it hold up against the Blaze. Grogan finished with 26 saves, shutting out Burnsville until Amanda Colin scored a power-play goal at the 15:44 mark of the third period.
• HASTINGS 3, EASTVIEW 2: Brittney Huneke scored a power-play goal on a shot from the point 33 seconds into the third period, breaking a tie as the Raiders knocked off the Lightning. Danielle Welch scored Hastings' first two goals; Christine Fries had both goals for Eastview.
CLASS 2A | Section 5 | Quarterfinals
• COON RAPIDS 4, BLAINE 3 (OT): Rachael Bona scored her second goal 3 minutes, 56 seconds into overtime, lifting the Cardinals over the Bengals. She set up Jennifer Yelle's tying goal with 6 minutes, 10 seconds left. Yelle scored 35 seconds after Brittany Beaudette's unassisted goal gave Blaine a 3-2 lead. The Bengals led 2-0 after the first period.
• MOUNDS VIEW 4, IRONDALE 3 (2OT): Ellie Mata scored the game-winning goal 5 minutes, 10 seconds into the second overtime, lifting the Mustangs over the Knights. Ashley Nyquist had two goals for Mounds View. Gina McDonald had all three of Irondale's goals.
CLASS 2A | Section 6 | Quarterfinals
• WAYZATA 3, MAPLE GROVE 2: Jenny Saxon scored 54 seconds into the third period, breaking a tie as the Trojans beat the Crimson. Teammate Liz Orke scored Wayzata's first two goals, late in the first and second periods and tied it after Maple Grove had taken the lead.
• MINNETONKA 5, WAYZATA 1: Jake Gardiner figured in all five goals, scoring two and assisting on three, as the Class 2A, No. 3 Skippers beat the Trojans in the Lake. Minnetonka had three power-play goals.
• ROSEAU 1, BLAINE 0: Senior forward Jason Fabian scored the lone goal with 6 minutes, 11 seconds left as the Class 2A, No. 1 Rams beat the Bengals in the second game of Outdoor Hockey Classic on Baudette Bay. Host Lake of the Woods shut out Eveleth-Gilbert 5-0 in the opening game.
