BOYS' HOCKEY: Skippers rip Eagles

• MINNETONKA 5, EDEN PRAIRIE 2: Paul Giel and Sam Coatta were a two-man wrecking crew for the Skippers. Giel scored two first-period goals while Coatta netted the following two goals as the Class 2A, No. 3 Skipper beat eighth-ranked Eden Prairie on Thursday in Minnetonka. Giel and Coatta also had two assists each.

• IRONDALE 1, ST. FRANCIS 0: Jack Healy scored the lone goal in Irondale's victory. Andy Benik made 53 saves for the Saints.

• TOTINO-GRACE 2, ST. LOUIS PARK 1: Dan Delisle scored with 3:02 remaining, lifting the Eagles over the Orioles.

• SAINTS 4, MINNEAPOLIS WEST 3: Mike Anderson scored from a scramble in front of the net with 6.2 seconds remaining as the Saints beat Minneapolis West. Max Mense tied it for Minneapolis West with 58 seconds left.

• WHITE BEAR LAKE 5, CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 4: Chris Fiala scored his second goal with 21 seconds left in overtime, giving the Bears a victory over the Raiders.

GIRLS' HOCKEY

• BURNSVILLE 3, LAKEVILLE SOUTH 1: Senior Ariel Mackley scored the winning goal on a breakaway with the Blaze on the power play in a victory over the Cougars.

• EDEN PRAIRIE 5, EASTVIEW 2: Melissa Feste had two goals and one assist in the Class 2A, No. 4 Eagles' victory over the Lightning.

BOYS' BASKETBALL

• BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 66, HOLY ANGELS 64: Jordan Taylor (28) and Armond Battle (21) combined for 49 points as the Class 3A, No. 1 Red Knights edged the Stars.

• COLUMBIA HEIGHTS 66, ST. ANTHONY 64: Jacob Thomas made a three-pointer at the buzzer, lifting the Hylanders over the Huskies. Thomas finished with a game-high 28 points.

• COON RAPIDS 99, BLAINE 96: The Cardinals overcame a 16-point deficit in the final eight minutes, then outlasted the Bengals in three overtimes. Blair Townsend forced the third overtime for the Cardinals, scoring on an off-balance putback. Dylan Rodriguez had 34 points for Blaine.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL

• COON RAPIDS 47, BLAINE 46 : Senior Anna Belpedio made one free throw with 8.6 seconds remaining, giving the Cardinals a Northwest Suburban victory over the Bengals.

• EASTVIEW 59, LAKEVILLE NORTH 54: The Class 4A, No. 5 Lightning scored 10 of the final 14 points to beat the Panthers. Brittnye McSparron led Eastview with 17 points.
