CLASSIC SUBURBAN

• ST. THOMAS ACADEMY 43, SIMLEY 7: Fritz Waldvogel scored three different ways in the first half as the Cadets cruised past the Spartans on Friday. He opened the scoring by catching a touchdown pass and also returned a punt and kickoff for a score.

LAKE

• CHASKA 26, EAGAN 0: John Straka had a hand in all four of the Hawks' touchdowns, passing for three and running for another, and Chaska went on to shut out the Wildcats.

• EASTVIEW 10, LAKEVILLE SOUTH 0: The Lightning defense held the Cougars to 48 yards of offense and recorded two safeties in the shutout.

• EDEN PRAIRIE 48, BURNSVILLE 7: The Eagles scored 42 points in the first half when Ryan Grant tossed three touchdown passes against the Blaze. Tight end Carter Bykowski was on the receiving end of two of the scoring plays.

• BLOOMINGTON KENNEDY 41, BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 14: Evan Aber threw three of his four touchdown passes in the first half, leading the Eagles past the Jaguars in the crosstown matchup. Aber completed 15 of 22 passes for 283 yards.

• LAKEVILLE NORTH 45, APPLE VALLEY 0: Senior running back Paul Bernier rushed for three touchdowns, leading the Panthers past a shorthanded Eagles squad. Bernier scored on runs of 3, 1 and 4 yards. A handful of Apple Valley players sat out the game for unspecified disciplinary reasons. "High schools have issues sometimes where we have to hold players out of a game," Apple Valley athletic director Scott Larson said before the game. "That's not unusual."

MINNEAPOLIS CITY

• ROOSEVELT 14, EDISON 12: Senior quarterback/defensive back Charlie Homan scored his second touchdown on 2-yard run with 4 minutes left as the Teddies defeated the Tommies. Homan, who rushed for 140 yards on 30 carries, including a 9-yard scoring run in the third quarter, also had eight tackles. Derrick Woods gave Edison a 12-0 halftime lead with a 16-yard fumble return and 75-yard scoring reception from Curtis St. Julien.

MISSOTA

• HUTCHINSON 30, HOLY ANGELS 6: Running back Corey Shufelt ran for 155 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns as the Tigers built a 23-0 lead at halftime against the Stars. Jacob Brusehaver scored the first two TDs on an 8-yard pass and 1-yard run.

• NORTHFIELD 21, NEW PRAGUE 18: Blake Faust scored on a 1-yard run midway through the fourth quarter as the Raiders edged the Trojans.

NORTH SUBURBAN

• BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 17, FRIDLEY 0: Mike O'Halloran scored on a 5-yard run in the first quarter, and the Red Knights defense did the rest.

NORTHWEST SUBURBAN

• CHAMPLIN PARK 21, COON RAPIDS 17: Rebels quarterback Ben Duncan scored on a 1-yard run with 34 seconds left. Duncan's touchdown capped an 80-yard drive, aided by two 15-yard penalties. The Cardinals took a 17-14 lead in the third quarter on Jesse Trimble's 15-yard scoring run and Matt Kloss' 38-yard field goal. Champlin Park's Ed Cotton ran for 155 yards on 25 carries and one score.

SUBURBAN EAST

• CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 49, ROSEVILLE 7: Gophers recruit John Nance ran for two touchdowns and passed for two in the Raiders' 42-point first half in a victory over the Roseville. Nance completed 13 of 18 passes for 212 yards.

NONCONFERENCE

• TARTAN 37, MOUND-WESTONKA 0: The Titans scored on three of their first six plays in scoring 30 points in the first quarter against the White Hawks. Senior Jordan Johnson ran for 148 yards on 10 carries and three touchdowns. He also opened the scoring with a 23-yard reception from Sam Ryan.
