I have to agree with the author. My experience with deer hunting in NE MN has been very disappointing of late. Few deer signs and fewer … read more sighted in an area with either sex and bonus tag available. If you do see a deer you better be ready to shoot no matter the size, sex because it will probably be the only one you see all season. My nephew shot a deer in his first or second year of hunting with us but for the past two seasons he hasn't seen a single deer. I can see his enthusiasm waning and frankly, after years and years of hunting, mine is too.
