The Bluegills are biting good.  The big ones still remain hard to find, this should change with time.  Better weather is on it's way!  Please feel free to give us a call anytime to updated information on local lakes.

Beautiful weather ahead!

Check out the Crow Wings if you are looking for panfish and crappies.  Long and Island are still giving up some walleyes.  The Osage Derby will be this weekend, great old fashion family fun.  One lucky child will leave with a lifetime fishing license, join us Sunday!

This winter is a challenge!

With all the snow this year most people are hanging together.  Fish Hook, Potato and the Crow Wings seem to be the most popular.  Look for Walleyes in 19', crappies 30'.  Minnows are the bait of choice.  The best tasting fish are caught in the winter, go get em!  The 16th Annual American Legion Fishing Derby is set for Feb 1st.  This derby not only is fun to fish but much of the money is given back to the community, tickets are $40.00, there are over $110,000 in prizes.  Give us a call for more info.  Also, the Dorothy Noeske Memorial Bluegill and Crappies Fishing Derby will be the last Sunday in Feb, this derby is totally geared to the kids, with one lucky one leaving with a Youth Lifetime Fishing License, just plain old fashioned fun that day, tickets are $2.00 donation each or $20.00 for a book!  218-732-4281,  Go Fish!

The ice is on!

Now that the rifle season is over, the muzzle loading hunt has begun.  Reports are spotty this year but some nice deer were shot this year.

Walleyes and bluegills have been active on smaller lakes.  There is anywhere from a skim to 8" of ice on many lakes.  Portage and Twin have had the most traffic so far.

Mid summer fishing!

While the Walleye's are in a little lull check out the Northern, bass and crappie bite!  Crawlers, leeches and Black Magic Jigs seem to be the trick.  Check out 15'-20' depths in cabbage growth.  The new 2014 hunting books are now available, pick one up to plan your dates.
