Ice fishing is in full swing, lack of snow leaves us with good ice.  Angler's are having success with walleye's, Northern's and crappie.  Most lakes are doing well with no one better than the others.  The Menahga Community fishing derby will be held Jan 19th on Spirit Lake in Menahga, American Legion Park Rapids Community derby is Feb 2nd on Fishhook and the Dorothy Noeske Memorial Osage community derby will be the last Sunday in Feb on Straight Lake.  These are all very fun, very family oriented events, call us 218-732-4281 for more information!

The snow conditions will be a savior to our ice conditions.  Houses are starting to pop up on our lakes.  Use caution on larger lakes as they have not been solid for long.  Redtails, creek chubs, and sucker minnows ready for a day on the lake, while supplies last.  The Park Rapids community fishing derby is set for Feb 2nd.  Tickets now available, you can call us at 218-732-4281 for more information.  This derby supports many local activities throughout the year!

Fishing slower, hunting full speed

Deer season is off to a great start.  Many large deer have been harvested.  One of the biggest complaints we have now is the lack of tags available.  The weather this weekend looks perfect for the final rifle hunt of the year.

Fishing is slower as the lakes cool, a few brave people are still out there though.  Ice has been on ponds a couple days which gives us the itch to ice fish.

Fall bite is going in full force!

Our fall fishing season is in full swing.  Check out Fish Hook, Potato and a couple smaller lakes for the walleyes.  18-20' with a large minnow is your best bet.

Archery season is going well also.  The bucks are starting to run with our chilly morning air.  Rifle hunters should be preparing with scents, clothes, shells and license.

Grouse hunting has been better than usual here.

On the fishing side of things go shallow, cooler fall waters have got the bite in 10-15'.  Heavy Pike minnows and crawlers for Walleyes.  Northerns and bass continue to bite on spinner baits, attach a "chunk" for fun!

The archery season is underway with several deer taken to date.  9 pointer taken this week, huge body and in fine shape.

Bear reports are scattered.  Up North in the Lake George area seems to be the best.
