There will be alot of action in Park Rapids over the 4th weekend!  The fish are biting, move alittle deeper for walleyes.  Leeches are the bait of choice now.  This year has been great on the bluegill, crappie and bass, nice size fish.  Check out BelleTaine, Fish Hook, Island and Long.  Sunday July 6th the Osage Sportsman's club will be holding it's annual "Kids Day at the Range",  check it out, very fun day with range shooting and archery.  This event is free, good family fun

Summer is on track!

We are seeing larger than normal fish this spring.  Crappies are doing very well as are the bass and northerns.  Check out the shallows for the best chances.  Weather has been good most weekends which has helped our visitors enjoy their time on the lake.  Kids, register your panfish in our annual summer long fishing contest, no cost just fun prizes!

We have open water!

Surprisingly, the fish are hitting in the cooler water!  Long Lake fill has been going strong for a couple weeks with some nice crappies in the bag!

The Jelly shop on Fish Hook is also producing some nice fish.  This should be a great opener after fighting last years ice.  Come fish!

Open Water

Smaller lakes opened up yesterday, rain coming tonight and tomorrow!  We should be in good shape for the opener, a couple large lakes may still see alittle ice but the majority it looks like will be open.  Trout fishing is going strong and we saw someone at the Long Lake fill yesterday fishing from the bank.

BLUEGILLS ARE BITING

Posted by: Debbie Lempola Updated: March 28, 2014 - 12:45 PM

The Bluegills are biting good.  The big ones still remain hard to find, this should change with time.  Better weather is on it's way!  Please feel free to give us a call anytime to updated information on local lakes.
