Besides the first paragraph, the whole article is about postspawn fishing, and the "sense of pride" quote is relating to catching difficult … read more postspawn fish, not spawning females. Also, catching spawning females isn't as easy as you make it. Otherwise, why would there be articles upon articles, shows upon shows, on how to catch bed fish.
