My basis is from fishing Wayzata Bay, Browns Bay and the main lake down to Big Island. In my post earlier I failed to mention the Muskies … read more not hooked but ones that latched onto a hooked walleye or crappie and would not let go until they were up to the boat. There could be other factors why Iââ¬â¢m catching more Muskieââ¬Â¦ one could be the reduction of Millfoil in the lake. All I can tell you is that Iââ¬â¢m hooking too many large Muskie starting 4 years ago. Check with the local bait shops and guides for their opinion. Chatter at my local shop from northern fisherman is that fish up to 9lbs show signs of attack from larger predators. I canââ¬â¢t say for certain that Iââ¬â¢m catching fewer walleye in recent years due to the Musky population but in this local fishing circle, including myself, are forming that opinion.
