I have had the privilege of seeing many firsts in the fields, but nothing in my forty year history of the hunting club business prepared me for the tremendous feeling of being with my grandson on his first!

The Fall Migration

November allows birders the opportunity to spot at least 150 different species of migrating birds during the annual winter migration through the Upper Mississippi River Refuge on the Mississippi flyway. The largest population of Bald Eagles in the lower 48 will soon be gathering near Wabasha as well as droves of Tundra Swans, on their way to Chesapeake Bay, and White Pelicans on their way south.

Gunflint Trail Now A National Scenic Byway

In Washington, DC, on October 16 the Scenic Byway committee announced the addition of the Gunflint Trail. In the Greenwood Lake area a 12-year old girl shot a moose. Loons act as weathermen.
