Trevor Anderson, 19, grew up hunting and fishing with his dad, Star Tribune outdoors columnist Dennis Anderson. He loves to fish, whether for muskies, walleyes, bass, or trout with a fly rod. In fall, he hunts waterfowl, upland game and deer with his bow.

 The leaves are now changing rapidly in the river bottoms of the west. Hatches of hecuba, mahagony, and trico mayflies are coming off on the Bitterroot and Clark Fork rivers. Duck and archery seasons have now opened, and many hunters have already put bull elk on the ground. Here is what fall looks like in Montana.
