State harvest numbers down from 2008
Minnesota firearms deer hunters have harvested about 96,000 deer since last Saturday. The statewide antlerless harvest is down 14 percent from last year and the buck harvest down 2 percent.

One of my favorite hunting methods is river float hunting.

Often it's mixed bag hunting which is always fun. We're usually after waterfowl but more than once we've gotten limits on pheasants as well. Riparian areas are rich with wildlife and you see all kinds up close when you quietly glide along.
