Competition from across the border comes in many shapes and forms, but when it comes to deer and deer hunting, America's Dairyland is the cream of the antlered crop.
Hunters have killed 151,000 deer - 20,000 fewer than last year. Most of the decline is caused by 19,000 drop in antlerless deer harvest.
State wildlife officials say hunters killed dramatically fewer deer during the opening weekend of Wisconsin's traditional gun deer season than last year.
Authorities said the men were returning to shore after hunting Sunday when their boat capsized and sank on Pickerel Lake in Albert Lea.
