• Troy Alan Reinke, 32, of Cannon Falls has been charged with 13 counts related to the alleged illegal taking of three deer, including what is believed to be a world-record 8-point buck.
• The DNR alleges Reinke killed a doe and smaller buck without tagging either before killing the 8-pointer. Reinke could register only one deer, making all three deer illegally taken, according to the DNR.
• Reinke faces 13 misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor counts. Jail time is possible, as are restitution of $2,000 and other penalties.
• The 8-pointer reportedly scored 188 net, or thereabouts, which, if legally taken, would have made it the highest-scoring whitetail 8-pointer killed by bow.
• The trophy rack, Reinke's bow and the meat from the three deer have been confiscated by the DNR.
