A cat with more than nine lives

In the sometimes wacky world of the Internet, anything is possible. This mountain lion is a prime example of the frenzy over big cats that shows up from time to time on the Internet. The 190-pound cougar was killed in Washington state by hunter Roy Hisler of Duval, Wash., in December 2002. It weighed 190 pounds.
But the cat has had many other lives ever since -- on the Internet.
E-mails with the photo circulated recently in Minnesota, claiming the cougar was shot with an arrow near Caledonia in southeastern Minnesota on Dec. 18. It claimed the hunter was in a deer stand when the big cat began stalking him.
Variations of the same e-mail message over the years have stated it was killed near Pelican Lake, Wis., as well as in Iowa, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Kansas, Alabama, Montana, Texas, Wyoming and probably other states.
