Hunting tip

Last update: October 21, 2008 - 11:52 PM

Pheasant hunting has been tough in many areas of Minnesota and South Dakota because of standing corn. But that should mean more roosters should survive later into the season. Even though public hunting lands have been pounded by hunters during the early days of the season, those lands still can provide excellent hunting later, after crops are harvested. Often, some of the best cover around is on those public lands. Another benefit to late-season hunting: fewer hunters. Many have given up or gone on to do other things, including deer hunting.
