(As told by nephew Steve Pederson of Eden Prairie)
My Aunt Bette, at age 75, finally caught the trophy walleye she has been fishing for all of her life. She has a trailer on the south side of Lake of the Woods and for years has watched her fishing buddies pulling in the big ones … but not her. So earlier this month, on Archie's Reef in the middle of Big Traverse Bay, she caught this 10-pound, 30-inch beauty on a gold spinner and minnow in 22 feet of water. We released this healthy female, and Bette is going to get a mount made from this picture. Great job, Bette!
