What: The 82nd annual Northwest Sportshow

When: Wednesday through Sunday

Where: Minneapolis Convention Center

–9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Cost: Age 16 and older, $11. Children 15 and younger free.

Highlights

• John Godwin of A & E’s series “Duck Dynasty” will be at the show Saturday.

• Alligator handler Jeff Quattrocchi, the Swampmaster, will demonstrate his skills with a wild gator.

• Marine Electronics University — a hands-on electronics class from Lowrance. A $20 fee includes admission to show, the class and a gift bag of software.

• Discover fly fishing — experts Bob Nasby, Vic Mason and Scott Nordby will offer tips and instruction.

• Fred’s Shed learning center includes free daily do-it-yourself seminars and clinics on maintaining, repairing and upgrading boats, motors and electronics.

• Seminars will be offered every day. Among the presenters: Ron Schara and Gary Roach on catching walleyes; Korey Sprengel on spring walleye tactics; Brian “Bro” Brosdahl on early-season panfish; Jim Saric on tips to catch Canadian muskies; Butch Furtman on steelhead and Kamloop fishing, and Bob Mehsikomer on muskie fishing. (Furtman, of Duluth, and Barry “Woody” Woods of International Falls will be inducted into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame on Saturday.)

• Travel seminars include destinations such as Alaska, Ontario, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota, and several dog training seminars are being offered this year.
