Weekly Minnesota fishing report

Mille Lacs

Johnson's Portside reports walleye action during the day using Lindy Rigs or crank baits around the deep gravel and mud in 25 to 30 feet. Head out just before dark and hit the gravel or shallow rocks in 14 to 20 feet using slip bobbers and leeches.

Nisswa-Brainerd area

Walleyes are hitting in Gull in 8 to 32 feet, fishing more shallow than deep, using leeches, nightcrawlers and some redtail chubs according to S&W Bait. Area lakes producing largemouth bass using pike sucker minnows, spinners tipped with nightcrawlers and plastic frogs.

Longville area

Walleyes are hitting in Woman Lake in 25 feet using shiner minnows, leeches and nightcrawlers according to Longville Bait Co. Area lakes producing panfish in the shallow weedbeds with crappie minnows or panfish leeches and northerns going deep with sucker minnows.

Lake Minnetonka

Wayzata Bait reports sunfish hitting in the smaller bays in 6 to 8 feet using wax worms and leeches. Northern action in 12 to 18 feet trolling Shad Raps or spinner baits with small sucker minnows. Best walleye bite is in the morning or early evening in 18 to 26 feet.

Annandale area

Little Jim's Sports reports walleye action in Clearwater and Sylvia using leeches and nightcrawlers in 16 to 24 feet. Sunfish also hitting in Cedar and Granite in 3 to 10 feet on small leeches and wax worms.

Battle Lake area

Ben's Bait reports Otter Tail, West Battle and 10 Mile lakes producing walleye in 19 to 25 feet using leeches and nightcrawlers. Northerns coming out of West Battle, Otter Tail and Clitherall trolling the weedlines.
