From the outdoors blogs: Wind and ice will be remembered forever

From the blogs

Travis Frank

This year’s opener forever will be remembered as the year for wind and ice. Being tough guys, we battled it all day long [on Lake Minnetonka]. After all, walleyes are always worth it. Four tired boys left the lake with a handful of walleye tales, and wind-burned faces. In total, we managed eight walleyes for our efforts. Four for the pan, four for the photo album. A far cry from a normal year, but considering the conditions, we called it a success. This opener proves that even on a bad day, fishin’ is still good.
