Drake Young, 10, Plymouth and his 38-inch northern caught on Lake Hadley. (As told by dad, Rick) Drake has caught numerous bass, but this 38-inch northern is the biggest fish he has ever caught. He was very excited. Drake caught it using a Rapala Tail Dancer. It was his second northern of the day, but much larger than the first. We nicknamed the fish Norris the Northern before we released it.

And these other whoppers:
BIG BASS Nick Michel, 13, of Waconia caught and released this 20-inch largemouth bass on Lake Margaret on the Gull Lake chain. After a long day of slow bass fishing, Nick caught this on his last cast with a Texas rig. As soon as it hit, he told his dad to get the net "because this one has shoulders."
BEST FISHING EVER Nancy Weidenfeller of Minnetonka caught this 38-inch northern on Lake St. Joseph in northwestern Ontario, using a silver and gold spoon. She also landed a 28-inch walleye. "This was the best fishing I have ever experienced!" she said.
