Christian Ponzetti, age 17 of Orono, caught this 52 inch muskie off a dock in Lake Minnetonka using a small crank bait. After releasing her, she was very slow to start moving so he jumped in the lake to help her. After walking her around for a few minutes, she happily swam off.

(As told by dad, Bob Ponzetti)

"Christian was fishing for bass off our neighbor's dock with a couple of his friends using 8-pound test line and a crank bait he'd just found on the shore. He saw the muskie about 10 feet out and cast in front of it. He was pulling the bait through milfoil when it hit in about 4 feet of water. After he released it, he was worried the fish was not recovering, so he jumped in the water. After walking her around for a few minutes, she happily swam off."

TONKA WALLEYE

Brian Johnson of Minneapolis landed this 29-inch walleye on Lake Minnetonka. "My Duluth customers don't believe that we have fish that big in Lake Minnetonka!" Johnson said.

NICE TROUT

Joe Fasching, 11, of Minnetrista, caught this 20-pound, 37.5-inch Lake Trout with his grandpa (Tom Kelly, age 83), father (David) and mother (Jean) on Lake Superior. Said Joe: "I'm glad I caught it because it would have pulled grandpa in."
