Gary Roach: Border waters good place to be chasing walleyes

Last update: August 28, 2007 - 8:43 PM

The northern Minnesota border waters are a good place to be chasing walleyes right now. The trolling bite on Lake of the Woods doesn't slow down until the end of September. On Kabetogama, the rock piles are loaded with walleyes and saugers. Crane Lake not only has walleyes going on the rubble humps, but the smallmouth on the cabbage beds are hitting topwater lures. It's not a bad idea to head north right now for great fishing.
