Lynx-Washington game preview

Last update: July 6, 2009 - 10:38 PM

Lynx at a glance: The Lynx gave up too many offensive rebounds (15) Thursday in a 74-68 loss to Sacramento. The Lynx (7-4) probably stressed boxing out in practice the past few days. All five starters scored in double figures for the first time this season against the Monarchs, but guard Roneeka Hodges, who had a team-high 15 points, needed 15 shots to reach that total.

Washington at a glance: Julie Plank, a Lynx assistant last season, is coach of the Mystics. Her point guard is Lindsey Harding, the former Lynx guard who never seems to leave the floor -- she is averaging a league-high 35.6 minutes, 10.2 points and 5.9 assists. Guard Alana Beard is Washington's top scorer, averaging 18.9 points. The Mystics (5-4), tied with Connecticut for third in the Eastern Conference, were 0-2 vs. the Lynx last year and trail 9-8 all-time.

I made this championship belt for the push to the '09 Division Title. Gladden offered to buy it; I wanted a trade for one of his rings. He declined.
