Rookie guard Candice Wiggins of the Lynx is expected to be named the WNBA's Sixth Woman of the Year today. She averaged 15.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists.
Wiggins played in 30 games, started only once, but still averaged 27.5 minutes. She had surgery on her right knee earlier this week for a torn lateral meniscus which kept her from playing in the Lynx's final two games.
Etc.• Augsburg will induct nine individuals into its Athletic Hall of Fame at 5:30 p.m. today at the Christensen Center.
Inductees are: Mike Colehour '78 (men's hockey), Greg Chmelik '87 (wrestling, football), Julie Hanson '93 (women's basketball, softball), Mary Klinefelter Resch '73 (women's basketball), John Mayer '89 (football, baseball), Chuck Priess '87 (men's basketball), Stephanie Simones '98 (track and field, cross country), Karl Sneider '71 (football, track and field) and Joe Wabner '83 (football). In addition, Darrell Wiese '59, a longtime assistant coach in both baseball and football and a former baseball athlete, will receive the college's Distinguished Athletic Service Award.
• Adam Dooley won the Mid-Amateur Championship at Edina Country Club, shooting a final round 73 to finish at 213, three strokes ahead of Troy Johnson.
