Monica Wright finishes second sixth woman of the year voting

Monica Wright finished second to Tulsa's Riquna Williams for the 2013 WNBA sixth woman of the year award.

This was going to be a tough one for Wright to win, given the way Williams has scored this season. Williams averaged 15.6 points per game and had that incredible 51-point performance against San Antonio on Sept. 8, the most points scored in the WNBA's 17-year history.

But Wright was a vital part of the Lynx rotation. Her 9.0 scoring average was the second-best of her career, and Wright set a career high in assists (2.3 per game) and a career-low in turnovers (1.76).

Meanwhile, after taking a day off, the Lynx returned to practice Tuesday. Afterward coach Cheryl Reeve indicated that rookie guard Lindsey Moore and backup center/forward Amber Harris has practiced well and could see some minutes in the upcoming Western Conference finals against Phoenix.

Moore's improvement allows Wright to play more off-guard -- her natural position. As for Harris, she might be in position to redeem an otherwise disappointing season. Harris had perhaps the best game of here career June 6 against Phoenix. Matching up with Mercury rookie center Brittney Griner, Harris scored 18 points with six rebounds, three assists and a block. If she's on her game, Harris would be a nice piece of the Lynx's plan to slow Griner.

That's about it for now. I'll get back to you after tomorrow's practice.
