Lynx update

The Lynx can clinch their third consecutive Western Conference championship with a victory. The Lynx need to win just one of their final three games — or have the Los Angeles Sparks lose one of their final two — to secure home-court advantage throughout the conference playoffs. This is also the second consecutive game against the Storm, which the Lynx beat 75-60 at KeyArena on Saturday. It was Minnesota’s eighth victory in nine regular season games vs. Seattle. F Rebekkah Brunson had a team-high 19 points on 7-for-12 shooting in that game. C Janel McCarville and Devereaux Peters each had season highs with 10 rebounds and PG Lindsay Whalen’s layup with 3:23 left in the first half made her the 20th player with 4,000 WNBA points and the second with at least 4,000 points, 1,500 assists and 1,000 rebounds.

Storm update

Seattle, 0-3 vs. the Lynx this season, got 22 points, eight rebounds and three assists from Tanisha Wright and 12 points from G/F Shekinna Stricklen in Saturday’s loss. The Storm has gone 5-3 since Aug. 17, but two of those losses have come to the Lynx. And the Storm, 2½ games behind Phoenix in fourth place in the Western Conference, is almost certain to open the playoffs against the conference champs. So a playoff rematch with Minnesota seems likely.
