Lynx update: The Lynx have won three in a row and four of five since losing three consecutive games in early August. Of those four wins, three were by 14 points or more, including Tuesday's 26-point victory in New York. This is the first of three games vs. Seattle the Lynx will have in their next four games. Minnesota won the only previous game with Seattle this season, 90-72, at home on Aug. 4. Lynx F Maya Moore, coming off her third double-double of the season, has averaged 22.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.0 steals over her past four games. After a stretch in which she struggled with her shot, PG Lindsay Whalen has shot 18-for-33 (54.5 percent) in the current three-game winning streak.

Storm update: Seattle has found its stride, going 8-4 since the All Star Game break. More recently the Storm has won five of six games. The Storm plays strong defense, preferring to slow opponents down and force them into a grind-it-out half-court style. F Tina Thomson has averaged 19.0 points and 8.2 rebounds her past six games. Camille Little has been in double figures scoring the past four. Seattle (15-14) was in a virtual tie with Phoenix (14-13) for third place in the Western Conference heading into Friday night's games.
